Before Paul Thomas began his successful crime writing career he was a journalist, travel writer and also published nine sporting books. His detective, Tito Ihaka, first appeared in Old School Tie and became a TV star in 2001 with Ihaka: Blunt Instrument starring Temuera Morrison. Thomas received the inaugural Ned Kelly Award for Inside Dope. The three books displayed here were later republished by Hodder Moa in one volume titled The Ihaka Trilogy.
